About Mothers Milk Bank Charity

Mothers Milk Bank is an ACNC-registered private charity providing life-saving Pasteurised Donated Human Milk (PDHM) to babies across Australia—especially those who are premature or medically vulnerable.

Generous mums donate their surplus breast milk, which is carefully screened, pasteurised and pathology tested to esure that it is at the highest safety standards. A health screening and mandatory blood test are required to ensure safety for recipients.

Working with hospitals and families, Mothers Milk Bank Charity help ensure babies receive the vital nutrition they need when their own mother’s milk is not available. Every donation supports the health and survival of Australia’s most fragile infants.

Mothers Milk Bank Freeze-Dried PDHM

Our Role at Nourishy

At Nourishy, we partner with Mothers Milk Bank Charity to extend the reach of this life-saving milk. Through our specialised freeze-drying technology, we transform PDHM into a shelf-stable form, preserving its nutrients and bioactive properties while making it easier to store and transport.

This ensures that donor milk can be delivered where it’s needed — from urban hospitals to rural homes — without compromising safety or quality.

Thanks to the collaboration between Mothers Milk Bank and Nourishy, PDHM is distributed nationwide — supporting families in hospitals, neonatal units, and homes.

Whether it’s an urgent request from a NICU, Special Care Nursery or a family requiring nutritional support, this partnership ensures that no baby goes without the milk they desperately need.

Safety & Quality

Both Nourishy and Mothers Milk Bank adhere to rigorous safety standards. Donor milk is collected from donors across Australia and undergoes comprehensive screening, including blood testing and detailed health assessments. Once accepted, the milk is carefully pasteurised, pathology tested, and handled under strict sterile conditions to ensure the highest level of safety.

Nourishy’s freeze-drying process further safeguards the milk’s integrity while increasing access and usability.
